What a unit is
Every plan includes a number of units a month. This is what a render uses:
- 1 unit
- A PDF of up to five pages, an image, or a Word or PowerPoint file.
- +1 unit
- For every further five pages of a PDF: a 12-page report is 3 units.
- 100 units
- For a batch of 100 one-page certificates: every document counts.
- +1 unit
- For an e-invoice (ZUGFeRD, Factur-X), on top of its render.
- ½ unit
- Each to merge PDFs, protect one with a password or stamp a watermark.
- 0 units
- For test renders in the editor and with test keys. They carry a small test mark on Free, and test e-invoices carry it on every plan.

Questions
What counts as a unit?
A PDF of up to five pages or one image; every further five pages add a unit. A ten-page invoice costs two units, a batch of 100 one-page certificates 100 units. Merging, password protection and watermarking cost half a unit each. A Word or PowerPoint file costs one unit, like an image; a PDF from a Word or PowerPoint template and a converted office file follow the PDF rule. An e-invoice (ZUGFeRD, Factur-X) adds one unit to its render. Test renders in the editor and with test keys are free; on the Free plan they carry a small test mark, and test e-invoices carry it on every plan.
Do you charge VAT?
Prices are shown net. Stripe handles VAT at checkout based on your country and VAT ID, and issues the invoice.
Where is my data processed?
Rendering and the database run in Frankfurt, and rendered files are stored in the EU. Outputs expire according to your plan; you can delete them earlier. A copy leaves the EU only when you configure a bucket of your own as a destination.
Can I move from another provider?
Yes. The importer reads your templates, keeps their template language (Jinja2, Liquid or Handlebars), converts what differs where it can, and reports everything it cannot map with its line; the documentation has a migration guide for each provider it imports from.
Can I change my plan later?
Yes, on the billing page of the app. An upgrade applies at once, and the unused part of the old plan is credited; a downgrade takes effect at the end of the billing period. Monthly plans can be cancelled at the end of any billing period.
